My research aims to describe climatic and environmental changes during the Cenozoic in Old World continents in relation to change in diversity (radiations and/or extinctions) amongst primates. I use dental micro- and meso-wear patterns and stable oxygen and carbon isotope composition of tooth enamel from ungulates and primates as proxies. The dental wear approaches together with the carbon isotope signature give information on dietary preferences and consequently on past environments whereas the oxygen stable isotopes track changes in annual and seasonal past temperatures, and consequently on past climates.
